September 2009 Newsletter

It has been awhile since you have heard from us and what's doing with Haiti. So ... here's an update on some exciting stuff that's going on with the ministry:

1. Ed and Mano are currently in the states for a visit, and they are scheduled to be in NJ from September 12 through the 22nd. They will be visiting our church (Princeton Community Church or PCC) in Pennington on Sunday September 20, and then we will host a casual (bagels & deli) lunch in their honor that afternoon starting at 2:00 in our home. All are welcome, but please let us know if you plan to come so that we can plan accordingly. Also, if you would like to spend some time with Ed and Mano on another day, let us know and we will see what their schedules permit.

2. It's time to starting thinking about a Haiti missions trip for 2010! We are considering either mid-March, when many colleges have spring break, or the end of May after most spring semesters are finished. If you think you might be interested then plan to come to an informational meeting on October 11 at PCC starting at 11:30 AM (after the church service). Let us know if you cannot make it so that we can keep you informed.

3. The school buildings in Marchasse have been in a state of disrepair. However, with extra funds many of you have provided over the past year or so (beyond the monthly operational and lunch program funds from school sponsorship) we recently provided Pastor Abner with over $4500 to help out with this need. The funds will go toward shoring up the cement foundations, fixing the roofs and replacing doors, as well as other needed repairs. Thank you for making this possible for the children and teachers!

Well ... that's what's new for now. As always, please let us know if you have any questions or would like to give us feedback. We appreciate you, and any support through prayer and finances you can give to Haiti through this ministry.

For the least of these,
Joel & Carole
