Bon swa from Haiti,

Hope this finds everyone seeking and blessed. Just wanted to send an update concerning the Happy House transition. It has remained a confused scenario as things wind and unwind. We were supposed to be in the new house by Aug 15th. That, of course, was a few days ago. We are still in the same house. The new one has had a lot more work done but still lacks a lot. We cannot move into it in its current state. We got the person handling the affairs of the owner of the current house to extend our lease for another month. Now we have until Sept 15th. Apparently this news did not reach the current owner and she will arrive in Haiti tomorrow. She is a Haitian lady that has been living in the States and was planning to come back and do a bunch of work on the house here, as well as living in it for a while. She finally got the news last night that we are still in the house, but did not want to change her plane ticket. She wants to stay with us here in the house. We have no spare rooms and will have to move Reynold out of his room to give her a place to stay. We hope that after three more weeks, our new place will be ready but they have not been consistent in the work there to say the least. Three days have passed this week and they've done nothing. We've already paid the money for the new house and are committed. We're going to chat with them tomorrow. At the moment I feel like we are in the middle of a candle burning at both ends. If we were Tarzan, it would be like swinging on the vines and having to let go of one without the next one being in sight.

I absolutely trust that the Lord sees our situation but I sure can't see how this is going to pan out. The Lord has a plan, but we can't see very far ahead at this moment. I would appreciate everyone's continued prayers. Please pray not only for the move to the next temporary house but also for the Happy House Center on our own property to become a reality before too long. Our house is home to many. I think that someday this will all be something we look back and laugh and marvel at, but right now I'm looking for that next vine :0)

As to my own state of being (since people always ask), aside from being hot and not having much electricity, I've been having some real insightful Bible study and prayer time. I don't need for things to be easy here, just need to know we're going in the right direction. This walking by faith stuff can really be demanding sometimes. One of the things I've been studying lately is the persecution against the church in Smyrna mentioned in Revelation chapter 2. When it's all said and done, "Be faithful unto death." So, for all the heat, uncertainty, heavy responsibilities, renewed threats of more rioting over high prices, etc., we don't have it so bad. How are the kids? We're all waiting and praying together and wondering what the next chapter will bring. I'm no vine swinging expert, but I do know that as far as direction goes, generally"forward" is the way to go. Please keep us and Haiti in your prayers. Bon Dieu beni nou!

Until we get Home,
